I had my sights set on a week in Mallorca for my 40th. It was something I dreamed about for a few years leading up, and had my airbnb and flights books and waited half the year to see who could join me. For several varying reasons, it just wasn't going to be the trip with friends I had imagined, and I would rather be with friends somewhere else, than in Spain alone so I did what life asks us to do - pivot.
Thanks to the Merge girls, I've had Tofino on my list for awhile and thought it was a next best place to go; in another country, but drivable, but feels more remote and on an island. I packed my bags and did a solo drive up last week. My friends joined me a day later. Here's what we loved in Tofino.
1. Tourist Wine Bar, Victoria. Even if you don't drink, vibes are perfect, food is great.
2. Hey Happy Coffee, Victoria. great coffee & food!
3. Open House, Victoria. The store to visit if you love Hoste, you'll love Open House.
4. Fizz Non-Alc Bottle Shop, Victoria. An amazing full NA bottle shop with "walktails" to go.
5. Tofino Coffee Roasting, Tofino. Def the best coffee in town!!
6. Merge, Tofino. So fun to see the full shop and meet the girls I've been working with the for last two years!
7. Foraged Vintage, Ucluelet. A great vintage multi vendor shop.
8. Our Airbnb + Cox Bay, Tofino. I'm linking it because it was great, but also was one of the worst airbnb experiences just because the hosts were completely unavailable and unhelpful when we did have an issue! Cox Bay was a great beach to walk and rocks to climb + tidepools and grabbed a drink after at the resort cafe.
9. Adriana's, Tofino. Omg, delicious sando's on homemade focaccia?! I want to eat 10 more of those.
10. Tacofino, Tofino. Best carnitas taco I've had recently. We tried to eat there again. So good. They have a location in Victoria too!
11. Stillwater Massage, Tofino. My mom got me a gift card for a service. You take a nice forest walk to a tent in the woods, it was so lovely!
12. Ombre, Tofino. We went out for my birthday dinner and Ombre was so beautiful and the food was so good. Great vibe for a nice dinner!
